I traded my Raptor 700 for a Ninja ZX-12 but I still have 2 660 raptors and a rhino 700. Those forward controls will look nice and that tail light is similar to the one on my harley street bob.

Forward controls and tail light came in yesterday....I installed the controls but forgot pics(of course). I had to remove the right side exhaust because the controls passed a little too close, even if I reversed the mounted tab. So now to find a new exhaust. The tail light looks better then I thought. Im gonna rattle can the fender black for now because the primer is bothering me. Also cut the sissy bar..because it was gay. Probably gonna fab some new fender mounts for the rear.

Been fairly interested in XS's for the last couple years and kinda off and on semi-serious about buying one. Looked around and found a couple but werent quite what I was looking for. I truely wanted to start with a stocker and build from there but came across a deal I couldnt pass up. Drove up to Texas today and picked up a 72 XS650 hardtail. Top end is fresh, forks recently rebuilt, weld on hard tail, modded Sportster tank, aftermarket ignition. It has some shifting problems with going in/out of gear. Im ordering a manual and will be doing the repair. From what Im finding it's got troubles with the shift drum. After it's up and running I plan on finishing it off to my liking...lowering the tank a little, ditching the sissy bar, powdercoated wheels, frame, tank and fenders, different forward controls and perhaps whitewalls and ape hangers. Here it is....Im pretty sure Ive got the only XS in town. Cant wait for bike nights.

Looks like a chiropractor's dream.....and Willy is right...ditch that tank. Otherwise, have fun with it.

The tank isnt too bad, it needs to be lowered about 1" or so. This pic has the exact same tank but notice how lowering it just a little changes it comeplete.

Thanks...that's basically all I intend to do with it. Bar hoppin, occasionally shows, and casual rides locally. Although we have made arrangements/reservations for Biketober Fest in Daytona in October.
