Opens 21st of this month.We are 3 members short due to the recession.Want be the same this year,not as much interest as has been in the past.I think there maybe only three of us there for the opening.Best mast crop I've seen in years,and will go to waste....sad state of affairs.I have never seen this nation in such a shambles....But, I will trek up to the camp and try to act like things are normal....after a couple of drinks at the campfire,all will be well.

I only have 10 acres of private, but im right across from nicolet national forest, which is huge. Im so deep in the north woods that no one else hunts it besides my party, which is good in a way, but sucks because it's such vast land. I also do some bow hunting down here in kettle moraine land that is good for producing big bucks, but it's still E-a-B

I am in racine, which is the next county south of milwaukee. Janesville is clear across the state, bout 3 hours from me. the horicon marsh is an unknown land to me, since I have never been there and i don't know anyone who has. I have heard nothing but bad things about it though. I heard the DNR there are insane, and they don't give anyone any slack about a damn thing. So I think I will pass on ever going there..

And Sorry to hear your B-i-L was the CE of Beloit paper. They never really did anything good... lol

There is no doubt he made a lot of money, Im sure he did. But as i've said in the past, i've heard nothing good about those machines ( I work in the industry) that is all hear-say though, since i've never worked on one ...

I have no want to hunt that marsh, too many people, too many pricks. And yes, im very scred of big foot ... but i have a big foot myself ;

yeah im doing the same. I had a long rough night last night after work, had a house party. had to get up early cuz the girl had to work, so she woke me up... now i have to still pack everything up, go to work, and then when i get out at 11 tonight, i leave for the journey upnorth. 4 hour drive, on a packed interstate.. Then once i get up there, I wake everyone up, crack a beer and get ready to go out in the woods!

I've got a long 48 hours ahead of me, but i can do it!

Good luck to all you hunters out there, bring in the big one!!! as for me, ill be back in a week! ahhhh no work for a week, how nice can it be!?
