That is true and I have seen the big bores lose to the smaller cc atvs also. But also that guy you speak of that ran the honda 250x would do even better on a 400 than his 250. Its all about skill level and not riding over your ability.Bad skills and fast bike will always lose to good skills and slower bike on the track.

Your true if he had a larger machine, but that is all we had. The point I was making is that on a stock machine (upgraded suspension tuned by me and altered gearing) of considerably less displacement and shear horsepower has little to do as long as the rider has the skill. Obviously the more open the track is the better a larger machine and even a sucky rider would overtake such a small machine with a skilled rider. I have always found the tighter track or course the better the rider needs to be.

Point in case, I know on youtube somewhere, theres a kx 85 beating up on a cr 500 in a hare scramble.. Funniest thing ive ever seen.
