Willie, maybe a simpler question to ask you're mechanic, would be: does it have dual catalytic converters? If so, it's a true duel exhaust. If not, it's a single to the converter, then split into two. I looked into a "true" duel system for my hemi. A Borla,(I love their systems) true duel, is about $2800 bucks installed.A one into two(single converter) system is about half of that. And Willie; my mostly stock hemi, will eat you're doctored up 5.4 for lunch any day of the week. It eat's Fords for lunch and craps out Chevy's.
Grizz: My best friend on this forum,I have two different pipes on my F150 they are NOT connected to each other!My truck is a 4X4,and the Dodges can't stay with it in a mile,the Heni's flag out when the Ford screams....I'm producing more HP than any you have seen,I don't have the Borlas,but had them on my 'Stang.When you punch this baby,she screams and roars,sounds like a blown engine,and the tranny is strong .Very fast for a 4X4.


More HP than any of use have seen? I think that claim is a bit of a stretch... If it only 'sounds' blown I doubt its as fast as you say.
250,everthing I have is fast!Trucks,cars,boats, I didn't buy this because it wouldn't move..4X4's are different,and mine is definitely different...

Jhess, let me set the record straight on your truck.

yes, the FX4 is nice, but it's not fast. 5.4's are just another engine from ford that will have cam phaser problems, knock to all hell, and rob you of HP. I'm not a mopar fan AT ALL, but I think the hemi is way outta your league as far as speed. Just because you have Duals and a chip, doesn't mean your producing hella HP. Not to mention the fact that you're old as hell, so you baby your whips like they are gold (kinda like how you talk them up). SO enjoy your luxury cruise, and the nice sound it produces - but stop talking it up like you run it at the strip and it's a 10 sec truck.

Yea, well I have a friend whose uncle knows a guy that has a brother inlaw whose best friend has a toyota corolla thats supposedly making 3,000 hp.. I hear its a beats!

Seriously, one doesnt normally think of a 5.4 f-series as fast. Now a Durmax, a powerstroke, a cummins , all with some work have INCREDIBLE potential. But the only way that 5.4 will make serious power is with a supercharger (as proved in the mustang and gt 500). Seriously, in truck form, its just not made to go fast. And theres nothing wrong with that, after all you cant haul your quad in the back of a mustang or corvette. Enjoy it for what it is, a good ole pickup!

Just a "top secret" exhaust and a chip "tuned" to your exhaust is not gonna beat my charger.lol All I have is a 5.7 hemi with magnaflow exhaust and k@n airfilter,but your piped and chipped 4x4 f-150 will not beat it.I'm not saying my car is the fastest,but it is fast for a 4 door car. I will race you anytime you come this way,but I don't want you to lose your truck.Besides I already have 1 f-150 and don't really need 2.lmao

Lets see some pics of this beast of an f-150 you got.I would also like to know whats so special or whats done to your 5.4 that makes you "think" it's so fast?lol I know a few people with 5.4 f-150s and they are decent but not real fast.
Like I said,ford needs to offer more displacement and hp on their gas trucks.

hey Jhess, On sunday i raced an EVO8 on the strip, and i was running a farm field next to him. I have an exhaust, GWM, jetted... I started at 300 ft, and he was infront of me at 1/8 mile. But the buick regal he was racing (that I didn't see at the time) Got beat not only by him, but by me too!!!!!! So maybe my 450 will outrun your truck too

I'd race trucks with you jhess. and all i have is a 03' silverado EXT. 5.3 .. not chipped, so you should beat me b/c
#1- you have .1 L more then me
#2- you have duals
#3- you think you motor is tuned to your exhaust cuz ur mechanic said to buy a performance chip ...

have you even ran the strip???

Willie tell the forum what is done to your truck or forever be ridiculed. Theres thousands of f150s with exhaust and a chip.

While I havent had a chance to try my luck against a 5.4, the 4.6 is not an impressive motor at all. My kia will tool on any f150 with a 4.6 in it granted there isnt a supercharger under the hood. Before anyone attacks, i know what they are capable of, the only thing my pops drives are f150s. They are slow as hell, bottom end and top end (Which is even worse, floor it on the hwy watch the gas gauge go down and the speedo slowly crawl past 80). I havent had the opportunity to drive one with a 5.4 so I cannot say how I would fare. for some reason trucks like to come after me but they usually lose.. Any v6 truck is easy to beat. 01 ram 2500 with 5.9, easy. civics suck my tailpipe. I dare not try my luck against a cummins or duramax with pipes/chip. Compared to an a6 2.8 or an a4 1.8t, it will smoke the a6 off the line and feels like it has more torque compared to the a4 since it is awd/turbo. With some tuning the 1.8t flies, my friend had a jetta with some work done to it and DAMN did that thing take off on the highway..ran low 14s in the 1/4 which is respectable for a car that comes with less than 200hp IMO. bought a turbo kit that would have put 400+ to the wheels but sold it before he could put it on to get a jeep since he goes to school in VT. parts sure arent cheap for german cars..

Blaster, I would put my spec against a 00 tundra any day of the week.


Not that impressive beating stock vehicles i know but it does surprise people more often than youd think. People have even asked if it was turboed.. haha rofl.. i wish

Havent been able to go against much else.. My cousin has had an 01 vette as well as a 77 and he just asked me yesterday about it and was shocked at the actual hp rating.. He overestimated. By about 30 hp. Kia has come a long, long way and are rapidly improving.

I think bluerap has the quickest car in this thread unless somebody is holding out on us... Who was the guy on here who had the drag mustang that lifted the front wheels? I remember him having a Zilla and lt250r...

Guys: Settle down, I have a 4X4 truck,not a 'Vette or fast auto, I'm sure a Hemi Charger would beat me,but not a Hemi truck!Now you must remember, I have run some pretty fast stuff in my time! I don't keep stuff stock...I mess around with performance goodies,and I don't tell all....My engine is different,thats all you need to know...I like the sound when I blow by folks that don't expect to see it happen.Next you will ask what the top end is!I would post a pic,but don't know how(forgot) Willie.I once had a Outboard motor(Mercury) that ran well above what people thought it would...did I cheat,you betcha!

Well Willie, you're F-150 must have come through with a Lightning engine. Because they are the only 150's that have beat me. A V-8 Ford Explorer challenged me once, and it was no contest, annihilated him. The regular 5.4 in the 150's is only about 275 hp, my Dodge was 345 stock. I know the newer one's hp #'s are up slightly, but not much. It's still a respectable engine, but it's not a Hemi. B.T.W., my work truck is an 02 F-350 single axle utility body, with the 7.3 Powerstroke. It's an animal as far as a work truck, for hauling and towing. I'll race ya with that too; but we both have to hook up 12,000lb trailers first.

I'm just givin you a hard time jhess,but you did ask me if I wanted to race for pinks.lol Most of the chargers around my area are v6's so people are suprised when they run me and find out mine is alot faster than what they usually run.But I definitley know where I stand on the food chain of horsepower and there are plenty faster than me,but I enjoy my legroom,big trunk,room to carry people,and the hemi horse power.
