I second that. This economy is still in the dumps, and who knows where it's headed.

I would say 3 grand would be the maximum in any economy. The improvements made to the Rincon 3 years ago (efi, disc brakes up front, 25ccs more, etc) have driven the resale prices of the old 650 down a bit, plus, you have to remember, the 2003 Rincon 650 could be purchased brand new at the time for just over 6 grand after discounts. You can't base the depreciation on the current model's $8500 MSRP. The quad is now 7 years old. It MIGHT be worth 40% of original purchase price.

2010 Honda Rincon, Red, Bone Stock
2005 Suzuki King Quad, Yellow, also bone stock.

Bullchit. I have a non-Honda in my stable right now that is considered a pretty solid quad, by large, and I'm telling you its built nothing like the Rincon I just bought, or any other Honda I have owned. Its a King Quad 700, for those who don't know, and its built nowhere near as rugged as its 300cc predecessor. When it comes to utes, when build quality/ fit and finish is considered, Honda stands alone. Oh, they have all made strides, but I've owned Kawis, Yamahas, Suzukis, and they don't measure up. In other categories, however, they do have advantages over Honda.

King Quad, Brute Forces, and Grizzly are all physically larger than the Rincon, and the Rincon uses more aluminum that any of them, yet the Rincon weighs more.

Its all about what they are going after. Yamaha just wants to make fast quads....same with Suzuki and Kawi. To be fast, you need to shave weight. Somethings gotta give. Honda couldn't give two chits about having the fastest ute out there, on the other hand. Its two different sets of core values.

I don't think honda stands alone, sure they use to be the most durable. But now all the brands are pretty bullet proof and none really over the other. They all have their pros and cons or likes and dislikes. But honda is definitley not the most well built or the most durable of all. CC you brag about honda being the most durable and the others more on performance then quality or comfort, what does honda offer other than "durability" and "comfort"?A briggs and stratton engine is durable but who wants to ride something powered by that?I'm not bashing honda but you are making it sound like honda is the "best" atv maker.
