This is absolutely the best thread on this site right now, because it is real and is something that resonates with us all. This was certainly a traumatic experience for you, and our love for our children is the truest of loves, and we feel their pain as acutely when they are hurt as your son was. I am sure you would gladly have traded places with him if you could have taken on his pain. I am relieved to read that he seems to be making a complete recovery, as I know you are. God bless you, your son and family as you all have gone through this.

You hit the nail on the head, with you statement , concerning the love we have for our children. It brings us all together, as Americans and descent people in general. Patrick's doing great, getting stronger every day. The State imposed physical and occupational therapists, come in once a day, which he doesn't even need, in my opinion. He's progressing more on his own, without these people. They even make suggestions on how to punish you're kids, when they misbehave. He gets sick of them, after about a 1/2 hour, and wont do what they ask. We have raised 3 kids, before this one; but the State seems to be the self righteous expert in family matters. I wouldn't wish this experience upon my worst enemy. Thanks again everyone.

This is the one year anniversary of Patrick falling through the second story window. I was going to start a new thread to thank everyone who supported us, reading the old one made me reflect. From the bottom of my heart thank you to all that supported myself and my family last year.

We take him to rehab once a week for PT, OT, and speech therapy. But the accident certainly didn't affect his appetite. He turned 4 in January and now he's 3'-7" and weighs over 50lbs. And Willie CPS, dropped the case long ago, but made two surprise inspections after that. Good thing I wasn't cleaning my guns and sharpening my knives, those days.

He did have some damage to the frontal lobe of his brain. The Doctors don't think it will affect him long term. Basically the accident cased parts of his brain to shut down. They actually put him in a state of hibernation, for several days, cooled his body temp, and slowed heart and respiration. All to protected brain function. As he slowly came out of that state, his brain had to re-boot, if you will, some things restored fully, some are still restoring. He basically is a 4 year old with a 2 year olds brain function, and mentality. It's a little overwhelming at times, but we deal with it. All God's children are special, and you have to provide them with the best life you possibly can, and put you're own personal life on the back burner.
