I am a gun person, have owned them since I was a pup.I have used a gun in the past. And as Princes says,it ain't easy. The only way I will use a gun is in self defense.Having guns can get you killed by your on means,if you hesitate to use it if confronted by an assailant.Do not show a gun to some one to scare them.If you pull a gun,be prepared to pull the trigger.Usually,a person thats a theif, aint scared.

I am one of "those people" that said he has guns for protection. I would not just shoot an unarmed theif, but I got kids and a wife to protect also. So if I came upon an armed theif or multiple theifs, I would definitley do what I have to in order to protect me and my family. But not just shoot an unarmed theif for stealing, and or trying to escape.

I do own a few guns, but I am not really sure what I would do until I was "in the moment" I am not putting down those that say/said they have them to keep theives away from their personal property. I was just asking the question generally speaking. Honestly, unless I had a gun pulled on me or my wife (and kids someday), I am not sure I could pull a gun on somebody let alone shoot them. But anyways lets all get back on topic here.

As far as the original question. I just keep things locked up in the garage, motion lights outside, and I have a whole house alarm system including the steel insulated garage doors, as well as just being smart about things. Like not keeping the garage doors open more than nessary (so would be theives can take inventory) and just keeping my hours random so if someone "cases" the joint it may keep them guessing.

Most thieves or opportunist, and if you leave stuff out, your asking for it to be stolen, especially if you live in a drive by neighborhood.Any way of hiding are locking up your stuff is the way to go.I keep all my goodies locked up in my Bat Cave!Out of sight, out of mind.

I understand what you are saying prince and I was not offended or thought bad about your comment.I was saying for me if it come down to it, I would definitley do what ever it takes to protect my family. You will have the same feelings when you have kids. But definitley no reason to take a life over stolen property. And never pull a gun unless necessary and you are sure you can use it if necessary.
