Anyone else in an economic depressed state of mind that has resulted in no or limited ride time?

I am, it is currently June 18th, and my 450r is still in the garage on it's stand waiting for the refreshed front end and the top of the motor is still waiting for me to put in the new piston. ITS JUNE 18th, FOR GODS SAKE. I've usually had about 10-15 races/rides under my belt by now. Just can't seem to get motivated to part with the money to get the bike going again this year.

You feeling the same way?

I guess I am fortunate. I still have a job (thank god) our company is doing "ok" still making money just not at the levels that we are used to. But as far as the riding goes, I have not had to sacrifice ride time because of money, now getting married is another story (I was married June 6th) But even with all the hub-bub of that I still have managed to put in aprox. 12 day trips of riding the dirt scooter in (no camping trips yet just no time) since March. The weather has cooparated well enough so I can ride my street bike nearly every day to work. Although I have put off a few performance/tuning upgrades to my various bikes in favor of saving more and spending that money on home efficency upgrades.

I feel the same, bell. I am stashing away every dime I can spare. Times are rough, but they are going to be rougher. Batten down the hatches, Obuma has arrived.

I've been doing carb/timing adjustments for 3 months....I can't get motivated to go out there and do it. Theres only 3 more races this season.

My biggest problem isn't fixing the bike. I have everything I need except about $100 in bushings. My problem is spending the money to travel to the race or practice, fix whatever it is I brake, and the risk of getting hurt. I use to never worry about getting hurt. This year though, I worry about it because of the economy. if I get hurt will I lose my job? will I have to take a pay cut? What then. What about the people that relie on me at work. I'm in sales, and at my company there are only two of us salesmen with 75 people relieing on our sales. Sales are down right now, I can't seem to justify playing on my quad while theres guys with families at work that may loose their job if I don't make a sale. That's some stressfull stuff. If I get hurt, whos going to go get the sale? Noone, so someone has to lose their job.

I miss riding though. It's been since January. That's way to long.
