Did AC ever improve their frame because I have seen some of the 05s brake the frames

Yes, broken frames were a problem with some 04 and 05 650 V2 models (Kawasaki powered). Hasn't been a issue since then.

Put 60 miles on the T-cat yesterday in Pine Center, MN. Empty trails, lots of mud, and great high speed woods trails - so it was a great day. Hopefully I'll be able to get the beast into Speedwerx/Hot Seat this week for its first upgrades of intake, exhaust and clutching.

Working with Bluhm Enterprises to install a pair of pricey, high-tech HID lights on the T-cat, which should give it about 10 times the light of normal Xenon bulbs, so it should be bright.

Now that the Thundercat is officially done, I can tell you that it's so insanely fast that it's quite a handful, but very, very fun. It will lay down a patch on asphalt with no trouble at all.

Check out the ATV 360 video on the build in this next week's episode. Then, after Labor Day, I'll be getting together with Arctic Cat's Kale Wainer to see how their own T-cat build compares to ours. Look for the story in an upcoming issue of ATV Mag.

I'm interested in seeing what you did. I think a stock T cat is "insanely fast"

How expensive is pricey? You can get a set of HID's from Ebay that go right in the stock lamps for under $100. They plug right in and all you have to do is find a spot to mount the ballast.

Agreed, the stocker is already pretty darn quick. The Bluhm Enterprises light kit was $199 - and I've been told it's much higher quality and longer lasting than some of those $100 kits. So far it's held up to plenty of riding and mud. With xenon high beams and the HID on the low beams (since they're always on with a T-cat), it's pretty amazing how much light it puts out.

Did you get pics of before/after in the dark of the lights? Sounds pretty cool. I'm thinking of installing some xenon lights and some lights up on the rack or bars. Need them up higher when the snow plow is on.

I've got a pic that shows one side with HID and the other as standard. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send it your way - tkaiser@affinitygroup.com.
