RE: Gotta Give It Up To Can-Am; They Have The Most Diverse Line.

I can understand what you are saying about CAN-AM, they are trying to present good products to the market. As far as product diversity though, Polaris is leading the industry. Canam was slow to bring out its UTV, and Polaris has three segments to its UTV line including an electric version. Even I would love a RZR S to ride.

RE: 350'ish 2x4 wheeler

Not making a point about age, but I am in a round about way, but the Grizzly 550/700 both have PS, a plush ride, and can make riding enjoyable for even my 81 year old father-in-law. More expensive with PS, but makes a huge difference on the arms when multiday riding. The 700 would have my choice for someone your size.

RE: Jones Pass riding

I liked the video, nice personal touch on the picnic, and could see how cautious the rider was on the decent. I'm sure it was steeper than the pictures and video portrayed. I noticed a couple of quads behind the truck, what kind were they to reach the 12k mark?

RE: So.. I've decided.

Good decisions inspire more good decisions. Since you are working while educating yourself, first educate for skills that will have more immediate results such as at IT Technical to learn hardware and networks. When accomplished, move to broader subject for B/A or B/S. Cannot reach next rung for management without degree. When in economic downturn, always find work with hard skills.

RE: Best Big Bore? You decide

The two that I have the most regard for are the Rincon, of course, and the Polaris 850XP. The Rincon's strength is its handling, ergo's and the amount of control one has of the machine while riding the trails. It has no quirks or bad habits in its handling. The Polaris 850xp's strength is in its stout chassis, newly designed suspension, and the power output. It seems to be the best big bore for towing.Have you ever ridden a Renegade or outlander or even a 850 Polaris .One more thing have you ever taken a PS ATV down a rocky trail a speed. If you did you would change your opinion. Does a Rhino count? In answer to your question, most definitely. In Lake City colorado, Mena Arkansas, Chadwick OHV in Missouri, Buffalo mountain at Hatfield McCoy in West Virginia, and on the Ocala Nat forest trail system in Florida. I'm working on getting a ride on a PS 850XP. It will be after my younger brother gets him one. He still can't swallow the price tag, but I know he will.

This thread is about our choice of big bores for readers choice award in the big bore category. Name your choices bear and why. My choice for big bore with the best power steering as it relates to the big bore's performance is the Yamaha Grizzly 700.

RE: Best Big Bore? You decide

The term 'big bore' should be limited to v-twins at this point.Thats a interesting comment our local Yamaha dealer use to ride with us until we started ridding 800's .Know he is back with a turbo 700 Grizz. It runs about 13lb of boost. Was he banished from you're riding group, before he got the turbo? When does this tirade of mighty v-twin, 800 cc power end Bear? It is nice to have that power for certain conditions; but you don't need it for every application. My little Big Bear 400 could rock climb like a mountain goat, with a pitiful 386cc engine and no diff lock. Hills so steep, I was almost kissing the front rack. It's called rock "crawling" you don't need 71 hp, you need low gears and technique. Where does you're group ride? Abandoned Air Force runways, flat and straight for miles? I bet you drive a Buick.I love it when you flat landers comment on the ridding in the high county. To start with a engine losses about 3% of its power every 1000ft so most of our ridding is at 7000ft+ . That means a turbo can more than make up power loss. My brothers and I have taken two trips to the Lake City Colorado area, and found that the 700 Grizzly and the 680 Rincon were more than up to the task of riding the 11 to 12 thousand foot range. My younger brother had a Rancher 420 and had no problem making the steep climbs. Any big bore is capable to ride 7k elevation, it must be a point of macho power that bear keeps referring to.

RE: NFL Draft

Isn't it amazing that we had this great draft with Bradbary from Okla taking the top spot, and two other Okies in the top five selected, and all we can talk about is Tebow. I think alot of the young man's talents and character, and he has great heart, and is not so taken with himself as many of these super ego athletes. I do think that can translate into success for him but not certain how it will be manifested.

RE: Dems are so toast this coming November.....

I do not think the American people are buying the negative sell job that the lamestream media is throwing at us every day. Almost everybody knows someone in the Tea Party movement, and they are not the kooks the press is calling them. The progressive/socialist movement has been working for decades to get where the movement is today, invested in their consumate leader Barack, and they will not let an unorganised countermovement like the TP to upset their applecart. The only thing they can't change, is that they are still in a small minority, and the more traditional citizens are more than two to one in the majority. There is going to be an epic showdown this November that will define the direction of our near future, and the strength of either the progressive cause, or the constitutional cause.

RE: Lots of mud riding in my favorite local spot.

Had the time today to go out for three hours of riding. I took the Rincon with the new stockers, and the 400EX. I was by myself, so not easy to get good action shots. It has been real dry here as of late, so alot of my riding area is dusty, but it had a small drizzle last night, so it knocked down the dust. It made riding the 400EX a blast because I was riding around in hyper speed since not having to worry about puddled water on the trail. I have to agree with an ATV Rider reporter, who said one of the best handling sport quads ever was the 400EX. It rides around the trails at speed like riding on a rail. Plenty of power to break traction in turns, and is predictable on how it jumps and lands. A little front break in a sharp turn, with power, and it takes corners with ease. I than parked the 400EX and rode the Rincon in the places where there is usually too much water for the sport quads, and even there it was evident how dry it is getting here. Rode very well with the new stockers, and with the steering tightened up, was a delight to push hard around the trails. Such a cushy ride over the palmetto and tree roots on many of the trails at the local spot.

RE: Who in here has the title of theirquad? Any payment sukkers?

I have the titles to all of my toys: two utility quads, one sport quad, the trailer that carries them, the truck that pulls the trailer, my 22' offshore boat with a new motor and trailer upgrade, and my Goldwing. I have twenty three fishing rods for inshore and offshore saltwater, and any freshwater, plus five tackle boxes for all the tackle it takes to cover the needs to fish those types of fish. Some has said that I have too many toys, but I work very hard and have earned the right to take the different methods of recreation. I even have my eye toward one of those new Ford Rapter pickup trucks.

RE: Dems are so toast this coming November.....

Just saw a news report that said that twenty five percent of those polled now identify themselves with the TEA Party. Last year on tax day, it was around 8 percent, and in one short year it has grown to 25%. I also watched several other news stories that equated the TP to a growth in barely contained violence on the level of the OKC bombing of Tim McVey. You talk about delusional people on the left side of the issues. This movement will keep growing with the all the stupid stuff being said by political hacks who still do not think this is a legitimate grassroots reaction to a deaf governing posture.

RE: Lots of mud riding in my favorite local spot.

Just purchased new rubber for the Rincon, from a sale at the local Honda dealership that was trying to get rid of the built up Rincon takeoff tires. Now have replaced all the stockers with new stockers. Rotated them this evening, and again was surprised at the jump in usable power when not using the XTRs. The steering keeps getting loose when running with the larger ITPs, and had to put a serious wrench job on the nut to keep it from backing off tight. This time I applied extra effort to get it stuck where it is supposed to stick. Also had to be creative on how to patch the 400EX rear tire with the small slit in the side wall. Applied two of the radial tire plugs at the same time and it filled the gap with no air leakage. Put through some serious testing to ensure it stayed inflated. Ready now for more riding.

RE: Forum Challenge

It's been awful quiet around here lately and I don't like it! To everyone: I challenge you this week to post 5 pictures of you riding! I challenge you to recruit a new member! I challenge you to post a favourite riding story! I challenge you to post a video of you riding! Let's get some good topics going guys and gals! I agree on what is needed to spruce up the dialog at this site. Good idea warrior~kid.I keep going on these rides with people who do not have atvs to acquaint them to the sport, and have won some converts. I am helping one person to get through the types and brands of machines that would be a good fit for him. On all these mud rides I have not remembered to bring my camera for pictures, but also because we get so trashed with mud and water. It should also be noted the GoPro cams, with their waterproof cases, can also take some very nice still shots. 5 Megapixel I believe. This shot was taken from less than 20 feet away with my GoPro. Not the curvature caused by the ultra-wide angle lens. The other is a similar pic from the same distance after basic cropping. In other words, stand closer than you think you have to when taking the pic. You'll get it all in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v696/cchagros/GOPR0013-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v696/cchagros/GOPR0012-1.jpg The GoPro also has a self timer function so everyone can get in the pic. I do find interest in a camera system like this, and am sure I would post alot of vids. I would probably tire you guys with my shear volume of post, and you would get tired of my ugly mugg. I do have some video of rides on my thumb drive, but for the life of me cannot remember how to post them.

RE: Dems are so toast this coming November.....

I brought a friend with my wife and I to the Tea Party event in Jacksonville, and we all had an exceptionally good time. I had no idea what to expect with the exception of alot of signs, and there were some fairly ingenious and thoughtful placards which all fell along the lines of being overtaxed, and spare us from Socialism in government. Sang lots of patriotic songs, had a color guard of those in historical early American dress, and a good monologue from Betsy Ross. A great band played songs for us to sing to, and a few of their own writen for the Tea Party event. Sat out in the center of the Jacksonville Landing in front of the stage waiting for the program to start, and ordered an outstanding pizza from Tito's Itallion restraunt that we ate sitting in our lawn chairs in the middle of a 7000 person crowd, in the sun, with a cool breeze off the St Johns river. It seemed everyone with a video camera couldn't pass up recording my wife and I eating that pizza in the middle of the crowd at this event. I made sure to have pizza sauce around my mouth, with a big smile for the cameras. It was a perfect evening setting, with the enthusiatic crowd singing fun songs and letting loose with their applause to the speakers. If this event was indicative of all the others on tax day, there was tremendous energy there, and we came away resolute and committed to voting conservatively, and donating to conservative causes and candidates who backed constitutional principles in governing. I hope more of you will get to experience something like this where you live. No racism, anger, rage, or violent expressions were espoused by the speakers, but we all had the same thing in common. Love for this country, and getting it back to the way we know it when growing up, with opportunity for any who wanted to work hard.

RE: Heads up Sir Lance, and WV!! Planning a trip!

If I remember correctly, isn't there a big quadfest in Gilbert about that same time frame? I know the "Fisher's World" crew is ther for that as well.
