RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

This is pretty much the exact look Im going for...even the same color green. Except Im leaning towards black wheels and a few other small differences. But this is about how mine will look.

RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

So my exhaust is finished and should be shipping today. Here's the pics the builder emailed me...he made them a little longer which is supposed to be better than the shortys. They should be here in a few days. Still trying to decide what Im going to do with them as far as chrome or black or heat wrapped.

RE: New enclosed trailer on the way *PICS ADDED*

For now, and possibly forever, we're just going to use air matresses. We've used them before with no problem and dont feel we'll ever have enough people to justify a bunk setup. We checked it all out yesterday and we can EASILY sleep 5 people VERY comfortably. Ive got friends...but not that many friends :B.
Also, every place we ride/camp at has showers/bathrooms so we wont be doing a portash!tter/shower either. Gotta rough it a little :B . About the only change we'll make to the inside is put a wall mount for one of the 32" flat screens to bring with us for when the weather is crappy...or we're being lazy.
The make is King American, they're based out of Georgia. We're currently working on becoming their South Louisiana dealer. :B Seems to be a great, well made and VERY well priced product. We bought this trailer loaded out for not much more then they wanted for just a bare trailer locally.

RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

Ordered the TC Bros Oil tank/battery box last week. Got a buddy to give me a hand today and in a couple hours here's what we had...

Tomorrow I'll be ordering a different Sportster tank with a deeper tunnel to sit lower on the frame. Slowly but surely it's getting there.

RE: How many have toyhaulers?

RN, we dont have an actual toy hauler but will be leaving Thursday to go to Georgia to pickup a 20x8.5 enclosed trailer w/ AC, insulation, etc etc. Personally, for what I want to do, a toyhauler is a) ineffiecient and b) cost WAY too much.

RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

So Im ditching the exhaust that was on it before....a) because it doesnt work with my controls and b) I dont like the look at all. Just placed an order for these custom made pipes for $205. Not bad. Should be built by next week.

Thanks...that's basically all I intend to do with it. Bar hoppin, occasionally shows, and casual rides locally. Although we have made arrangements/reservations for Biketober Fest in Daytona in October. :B

RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

The tank isnt too bad, it needs to be lowered about 1" or so. This pic has the exact same tank but notice how lowering it just a little changes it comeplete.

RE: My new project...XS650 Chopper

Forward controls and tail light came in yesterday....I installed the controls but forgot pics(of course). I had to remove the right side exhaust because the controls passed a little too close, even if I reversed the mounted tab. So now to find a new exhaust. The tail light looks better then I thought. Im gonna rattle can the fender black for now because the primer is bothering me. Also cut the sissy bar..because it was gay. Probably gonna fab some new fender mounts for the rear.

RE: new harley

Here's the Street Glide he bought. It's not really my style but not a bad bike. He's since added a buttload of chrome including chrome front forks, primary cover, controls, etc etc. He's wanting to get a huge chrome 21" wheel for the front. Sadly he'll have more $$ in just accessories then I'll have in my entire XS....and mine is still cooler. :B

RE: new harley

Harleys are pricey if you havent noticed. I still say a large part of their pricing is name recognition. My dad just bought a 2010 Harley Street Glide w/ Rinehart pipes, intake and programmer a month ago and paid $24k OTD. Every other dealer around here wanted $25k+ for completely stock one...and that's 25k before TTL.
